This collection presents four finely rendered bird portraits, each depicted as a detailed head study. Beneath each portrait, the bird’s scientific name is written in classical copperplate calligraphy, creating a refined dialogue between art and natural history.  Accompanying each portrait is a carefully painted individual feather, specific to the bird, further enhancing the connection between form and species.
 
The collection features bird species native to the northern region of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. It celebrates the richness, colour, and biodiversity of this remarkable area—one of Brazil’s most culturally and ecologically abundant states.
